Root Canal Treatment

A root canal treatment is done to repair and save a damaged or infected tooth instead of removing the tooth from the mouth. During a root canal treatment at Meadowbrook Dental Synergy, the dentist removes the affected nerve tissue (called the dental pulp) from inside the tooth. A filling is placed using a material called gutta percha to fill the space where the dental pulp was located.

  • How often do I need a check up?
    We recommend every 6 months.
  • How often should I have my teeth cleaned?
Generally every 6 months, however the dentist can advise you how often after assessing your teeth and gums.
  • How often do I need x-rays?
X-rays are recommened every 2 years, however there maybe instances where the dentist may need a new image.
